This substantial release proposes to address the cultural and political news of the years 1958-1962, retracing the history of the Sonorama magazine, an unprecedented media experience that during it's short existence has made the phonographic medium a vector of information. Jean-Baptiste Mersiol has selected archives that highlight how, over the four years of existence of this sound magazine, France was going through a pivotal and dense period: from the advent of the Fifth Republic, to the emergence of Yeyes, the war in Algeria, the building of the Berlin wall, and the first man in space.
